Exhibition information:

For over 10 years, the Froh Ussicht farm in Samstagern (Canton of Zurich) has hosted art exhibitions that deal with current issues of equal concern to agriculture and contemporary art, such as environmental protection, species extinction and biodiversity, as well as classic themes such as landscape, agriculture in transition, and humans and nature.

The exhibition entitled “Halt” (“Stop”), planned for 2024, shows four artistic positions from Switzerland on the themes of stopping, holding on and perpetual motion. The artists Lithic Alliance, Una Szeemann, Mickry 3 and Tim Zulauf examine our anthropocentric view of environmental research and the resulting consequences, attempting to make the invisible, the traces that living beings leave behind, visible by materializing bodies, thoughts and unconscious states. The exhibition also addresses work within the collective, the potential to “stop” or “hold” each other, in the sense of giving support and being rooted. The importance of psychological support through meaningful activities such as working in agricultural vegetable growing, and stopping and getting out of the same old rut, are also manifested in this exhibition.

All four artists are producing new works for “Halt”, which can be viewed freely at the Froh Ussicht location from 1 June to 27 October 2024.
