Exhibition information:
In the Valais mountain village of Ernen (Goms) and beyond, works by artists from the Valais and the rest of Switzerland can be discovered for the fourth time this summer. The works are created specifically for the site and can be visited in public spaces and in unique buildings.
Two installations in barns, a nine-day hike along the Rhone pilgrimage trail and a feminist take on alpinism await the audience at Zur frohen Aussicht this summer. For the fourth time, the art project opens up new perspectives and surprising insights, this year not only in Ernen, but all the way down to Sion and up to the Rhone glacier.
The hike by Nina Willimann and Mayumi Arai will take place from 23.7.-31.7.2023. The artist duo will walk from Sion to the Rhone Glacier, mapping the Rhone and narratives associated with it. You are invited to accompany them by the day and share experiences, memories and stories about the Rhone.
